Hi everyone! Welcome to my latest book review. I know it has been a while, I apologise x
So, my first book this time around is "Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes. The first thing I will say (like I do with any book that has a movie of the same)
is read the book first before you see the movie. I would also say that you should make sure you have a box of tissues handy as you will cry.
This book tells of an executive who finds himself in a wheelchair, a quadraplegic following a tragic road traffic
accident and the plucky young woman hired by his parents to care for him and become a companion fo him.
I can't really say too much without giving away the whole thing, but needless to say, the story that is sometimes funny, sometimes sad is a
really good read, even if I did end up blubbering and a complete wreck by the end of it. I should also say at this point that I was aware of the book and the movie, I'd seen the trailers for the movie and had more than an inkling that it was going to
be a tearjerker and was not likey to have the happy ending you find yourself really wanting for the main characters even though you know it isn't going to happen.
I would say this is one for the girls, and possibly one for the guys who are
in touch with thir feminine sides and aren't afraid to show their emotions. Read this in private, tucked up with a mug of tea and the aforementioned box of tissues and settle in. Be prepared to get completely absorbed by the book and the characters that Jojo
brings to life. Be prepared to cry your socks off, love the book whilst simultaneously wishing that you'd never picked it up, but overall be glad that you'd read it and pass it on for someone else to read.
I would read this one again so I'm
giving it a 4 book rating, but I won't read it again for a while - I need to recover emotionally first (which may take a while). If you haven't read it but have been thinking about it, give it a go. You won't regret it.
